These Amazon headphones sound better than my AirPod Pros for half the price

I can remember when Apple’s AirPods first released into the wild and, I’ll be the first to admit, I thought they looked completely daft. Clearly the world disagreed as the market of wireless earbuds has since skyrocketed with Apple no longer the only manufacturer in the business.

Edifier is another audio gadget company that’s made a name for itself in the last few years putting out banger after banger of speakers and headphones. Ranging from premium options right down to entry-level designs, there’s usually something in its catalogue to suit everyone.

Its most recent release is the NeoDots, a mid to high end package that most closely resembles Apple’s AirPod Pros in feature-set. After testing them out for a week, they’ve won me over in almost every department - apart from one use-case that won’t be a priority for everyone.

Right off the bat, let’s talk about the sound quality of these NeoDots. Put simply, they sound phenomenal, with a bright and clear sound that feels balanced right out of the box.

With a bit of EQ tweaking in the easy-to-use companion app, you can get these sounding just right for the sort of music you listen to, with my usual rotation of Blossoms and Inhaler coming to life through these earbuds. The bass is loud without being overpowering, while leaving room to hear vocals and instruments in detail.

I’m only streaming music via my Spotify Premium subscription, but there’s support for high-res audio formats like LDAC here too, so they’re a fantastic option if sound quality is something you really care about deeply. To my ear, they sound better than my first generation AirPod Pros with a bit of finetuning.

If you only own one Edifier product, you won’t have any issues with the companion app at all.
