There's the King of Monaco GP, but an Aston Martin win could come around a Principality corner

The Monaco Grand Prix is widely regarded as the premier event on the Formula 1 calendar.

Since its first appearance in the inaugural F1 season in 1950, the race would only appear again in 1955, running uninterrupted.

From that 1950 race onwards, 36 drivers have managed to stand on the top step at the race around the Principality, but the true legends of the event are those who managed to do it on multiple occasions. Among these, Ayrton Senna's name comes first as the one with the most wins.

The Brazilian has taken victory here on six occasions, the first coming in 1987, followed by five consecutive wins between 1989 and 1993.

Senna is also widely regarded as the King of the Monaco GP, having made quite the impression at the rain-hit 1984 event, finishing in second place behind future rival Alain Prost.

As well as his impressive win record, the late Senna also holds the records for the most pole positions around Monaco (five) and the most podium finishes (eight).

He is only bested by Michael Schumacher for the highest number of fastest racing laps, having set the track alight on five occasions.

Of the current drivers, only Lewis Hamilton (three), Fernando Alonso (two), Max Verstappen (one) and Sergio Perez (one) have won around Monaco.

Charles Leclerc, a Monaco native, is yet to win in front of his home crowd, with unforced errors and strategic blunders hindering his chance to do so.

Early predictions are that either Verstappen or Perez could register another win here in 2023, but Alonso rates his chances at victory quite highly.
