"There's a possibility" - Transfer insider claims Arsenal could sign "incredible" 93-goal ace

Arsenal could sign Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus this summer, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

With both Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette out of contract at the end of the season, the Brazil international has been heavily linked with a summer move to the Emirates Stadium.

According to The Athletic, Mikel Arteta’s side are ‘exploring the possibility’ of bringing Jesus to north London this season following his lack of opportunities for the Premier League leaders.

Jesus, described as “incredible” by Pep Guardiola last season, scored four times in City’s demolition of Watford on Saturday to take his tally for the club to 93 goals in all competitions.

However, the 25-year-old, has started just over half of City’s Premier League games this season despite being the only recognised striker on their books following Sergio Aguero’s departure in 2021.

The report says that discussions with Arsenal’s technical director Edu and Jesus’ representatives have been taking place for a number of months, with Jesus open to the idea of signing for the Gunners having previously worked with Arteta when he was Guardiola’s assistant at City.

However, while Jones has failed to rule out Jesus becoming an Arsenal player in the next window, he believes that the deal isn’t at as an advanced stage as some reports suggest.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “There’s a possibility that he ends up there. I think the stories linking him to Arsenal probably went a bit further than the truth lies.”
