"There's a chance..." – Transfer insider now drops exciting Spurs claim on 110-goal star

Tottenham are waiting on Christian Eriksen to decide on his future but believe “there’s a chance” he could return to the club this summer, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Denmark international’s short-term contract at Brentford expires later this month and he’s been linked with a move back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Following the goalless draw with Spurs back in April, Brentford manager Thomas Frank admitted that Eriksen, who’s scored 101 goals in his club career, will decide on his next move at the end of the season.

But he’s currently on international duty with Denmark, preparing for four Nations League games over the next fortnight, meaning clubs will have to wait another couple of weeks.

Jones previously told GiveMeSport that Eriksen had held talks with Tottenham, although Fabrizio Romano revealed that Brentford also want to keep the 30-year-old playmaker.

Despite going more than eight months without kicking a competitive ball, Eriksen quickly put any doubts to bed over him not being the same player by guiding the Bees to Premier League safety with a string of excellent performances.

One display against Chelsea, in which he scored his first goal back in English football, led to Frank describing him as a ‘top player‘ but Jones believes that despite Tottenham making a fast start to the window, they’re playing a waiting game with Eriksen.
