'I hear that...' - Sky Sports reporter shares huge transfer boost for Spurs

Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has revealed Tottenham Hotspur could have been handed a huge boost in their efforts to sign former star man Christian Eriksen as the midfielder is now likely to leave former club Brentford this summer. 

Spurs have blazed into the transfer window this summer, securing the signings of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, and most recently Yves Bissouma from Brighton, but it looks like the club is not going to stop there.

Antonio Conte’s side has recently been linked with a move for their former star man Christian Eriksen after the midfielder was shown at Brentford last season after it was unsure whether he would play again after his horrific injury at the Euros.

There were rumours that Eriksen, who has 115 goals across his career, could end up staying at Brentford, but according to Bridge, the Danish international is now likely to leave the London club this summer which has handed his former team a huge boost in their pursuit of his signature.

He told GiveMeSport, “I hear that he’s probably going to move on from Brentford.

“I don’t think he owes Brentford anything, I think they could have got relegated before he got in the team. I think they had seven out of eight league games, they were in absolute free fall, Eriksen came in and they were unbeaten.”

Spurs are doing some impressive work in the transfer window as they try and build around Conte and push for a title challenge and relevancy in the Champions League next season, and bringing in Eriksen again would only add to this.

While they have just signed Bissouma and have Dejan Kulusevski and Heung-min Son in the attacking roles, Eriksen can certainly help them next season with all the games they are going to
