'There is also interest from Leeds in...' - Journalist clams Orta is now eyeing 'jewel'

Leeds United hold an interest in yet another RB Salzburg player, with young striker Junior Adamu also believed to be on their radar.

This has been suggested by Ryan Taylor when the journalist was speaking on his latest YouTube video to discuss the latest in Premier League transfers.

Leeds have already raided the Austrian outfit this summer for their right-back Rasmus Kristensen and attacking midfielder Brenden Aaronson.

However, another may be on his way to Elland Road, with the 21-year-old striker also believed to be an option this summer in Jesse Marsch’s mission to reunite with his former players.

With an influx of cash expected to arrive in the Leeds bank account through the expected sales of Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha, Taylor feels Adamu is one to keep an eye on.

He said: “There is also interest from Leeds in Junior Adamu, who’s a striker who looks like the next one on the conveyor belt from Salzburg.”

TIF Thoughts on Taylor’s comments…

The 2021/22 campaign was definitely a difficult one for the Whites and a big reason behind that was the injury issues experienced by their striker, Patrick Bamford.

With this in mind, we feel Leeds absolutely have to provide Bamford some backup for the new campaign but we do wonder whether his issues last season could provide enough concern to replace him as the number one striker?

However, we are not entirely convinced Adamu is ready yet to be Bamford’s replacement with just seven league goals last season in the Austrian Bundesliga.

In the same breath, has Adamu – who has been labelled a “jewel” – shown enough to suggest he would provide sufficient backup if Bamford is to have another season ruined by injuries?
