'I know that' - Sky Sports man issues exciting Leeds update with Orta 'looking to move quickly'

The 26-year-old left his boyhood club for the Premier League champions for an initial £42m, with a further £3m in add-ons as part of the deal.

In a separate transfer, Leeds completed the signing of City youngster Darko Gyabi for a reported fee of £5m, taking their total arrivals so far this summer to four.

After a relegation-threatened campaign last term, Victor Orta has been hard at work, first bringing in attacking midfielder Brenden Aaronson from RB Salzburg before drafting in teammate, right-back Rasmus Kristensen.

It took just under £35m to sign the pair, while another £10m was enough to make Bayern Munich sanction a transfer for centre-midfielder Marc Roca.

Now, Thornton has claimed that the club have put together a list of further targets, with manager Jesse Marsch urgently looking to reinforce his side after Phillips’ exit.

He told GiveMeSport: “It’s a case of them having a shortlist and they’ll have a number of players in mind. It depends on whether they can get their first target, second target or whatever.

“But I know that they have identified the players they want and I know that they’re looking to move quickly to get deals done.”

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams looks set to link up with his compatriots Marsch and Aaronson at Elland Road, while the Italian journalist also revealed that the club are closing in on Feyenoord winger Luis Sinisterra.

Meanwhile, journalist and Leeds fan James Marshment updated supporters in relation to their reported interest in Mohamed Camara – also part of a Red Bull franchise in Salzburg – with the midfielder now looking likely to stay in Austria.
