The Yorkshire Vet's Peter Wright's unconventional first date with wife Lin

Fans of Channel 5's The Yorkshire Vet are in for a treat as Peter Wright, the cherished star of the show, returns for its 19th season. Enthusiasts are not only thrilled to see Wright back on their screens but are also intrigued by his life away from the cameras, particularly his romantic bond with his wife Lin.

As a long-serving vet and the apprentice of the legendary James Herriot, Peter Wright has become a much-loved figure at Skeldale Veterinary Centre, gaining fame through the TV series. Alongside Julian Norton and the veterinary team, he has been winning over viewers' hearts.

Despite being a familiar face on television for nearly a decade, Wright is known for maintaining the privacy of his domestic life with Lin.

Nevertheless, fans remain fascinated by the couple's love story, especially after witnessing Peter Wright's dedication to animal care on the show, reports the Mirror.

Lin disclosed to the Mirror the unique circumstances under which she met Peter Wright, saying: "We met at a joint work do, where my dentist's office mixed with the local vet's on the same street.

"There was a spark straight away but, oddly for our first date, he took me to an abattoir. An old cow who couldn't be used for meat was being slaughtered.

"Peter wanted to observe and work out what was wrong with the cow. I waited for him outside. It didn't get much better as it went on, really!"

In spite of a somewhat unorthodox commencement to their relationship, it did not take long for the duo to make serious commitments; moving in together after just six weeks, followed by the arrival of their first child Emily, marriage, and then their second child Andrew.
