Ireland's Dylan Slevin whitewashed by Luke Littler

Luke Littler swept past Ireland's Dylan Slevin to book his place in the third round of the NEO.bet German Darts Championship in Hildesheim.

The 17-year-old, chasing a third European Tour title of the season, never looked back after breaking Slevin in the first leg, and soon opened up a 4-0 lead.

It remained one-way traffic as the World Championship runner-up completed a 6-0 whitewash to coast into the last 16 with a match average of 101.33.

Littler goes on to play Ryan Searle, who earlier saw off Welshman Jonny Clayton.

The 16 seeded players came into Saturday’s second round, with former world champion Gerwyn Price edged out 6-5 by Krzysztof Ratajski during the evening session.

Dutchman Michael van Gerwen coasted past James Wade 6-2 while top seed Dave Chisnall and Joe Cullen also progressed to Sunday’s action, which will see the quarter-finals onwards played out in the evening.

Ricardo Pietreczko started his title defence with a 6-3 win over Australian Simon Whitlock.

Martin Schindler delighted the home crowd as he came from behind to beat Mensur Suljovic 6-4 while Peter Wright edged past Stephen Bunting in the final leg.

In the afternoon session, there were wins for Andrew Gilding, Daryl Gurney, Chris Dobey and Damon Heta.

Welshman Nick Kenny beat Ross Smith in a last-leg decider while Danny Noppert defeated fellow Dutchman Dirk van Duijvenbode.
