Ten Hag named Iqbal in his 31-man squad for United's pre-season tour and he's already threatening to be the summer breakout star at the club.

Iqbal has played just over 90 minutes against Liverpool and Melbourne Victory and both of his second-half performances have been teeming with promise. Iqbal is composed with the ball and moves it well. He's looked more than comfortable stepping up.

United beat Melbourne Victory 4-1 on Friday afternoon and Ten Hag substituted Iqbal on for the second half, just like he did against Liverpool in Bangkok. Iqbal sent supporters on social media in meltdown during that game after pirouetting his opponent.

Iqbal demonstrated his strength and skill in that same sequence. It was a moment of real quality and a silky turn that the French Zidane would have performed himself in his illustrious playing days.

If Iqbal can enjoy a smidgen of the success that Zidane achieved, he'll have a wonderful career. His career is only just starting, but he's made impressive progress in a short space of time. If anyone needed a reminder, Iqbal was only promoted to the U23s last season.
