‘The signals that might send out’ - Journalist sends ‘vital’ message to Leeds

Leeds United potentially selling Jack Harrison would send the wrong signal out to the rest of the squad.

That is according to journalist Pete O’Rourke, who was speaking about the Whites’ remaining transfer plans for the remainder of the transfer window.

Having already sold both Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha to Manchester City and Barcelona respectively, Jesse Marsch will not want to lose Jack Harrison this summer.

Newcastle United have been rumoured to be interested in the 25-year-old star, and now it is believed that they are ready to make another bid for the winger, with Leeds suggesting that they won’t budge unless they receive an offer of at least £35m.

And O’Rourke believes that Leeds need to keep hold of Harrison, otherwise it will send a negative message out to the rest of the squad. 

“Leeds need to keep hold [of Harrison]. 

“They’ve lost two key cogs of their side in Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips and they won’t really want to lose Jack Harrison either, as the signals that might send out to other teams and to the rest of the squad if they do sell their best players.

“I think it’s pretty vital that Leeds keep hold of him.”

We believe that Leeds fans will agree with O’Rourke in the suggestion that the club need to keep hold of Harrison, who could be considered a key component of Marsch’s side.

The club have already welcomed six new faces to the club this summer, and perhaps it would be best for the club to keep consistency at Elland Road, by keeping familiar faces around.

And therefore, we think that Leeds should hold out until Newcastle meet their valuation of Harrison, before they even consider letting him depart the club.
