The Rock: Dwayne Johnson felt pressure to suppress mental health issues during teenage years

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, in a brand new interview, has opened up about his mental health struggles and bouts with depression.

The Rock has never been one to shy away from speaking about his prior battles with mental health and depression.

The former WWE Champion may be one of the most recognisable faces on the planet, but he’s certainly had to overcome some challenging times.

And now, in a new interview with E! News, the Hollywood megastar has spoken about feeling as if he couldn’t speak about his struggles during his teenage years:

“I grew up an only child and a dude. And you know, it’s not in our nature to just talk about it because it makes us feel vulnerable. We don’t want to feel vulnerable. It makes us feel weak, we shouldn’t feel weak. We should have our sh*t together. But that’s not life.”

However, as noted, Rocky has been able to turn his life around from having just $7 to his name, to amassing a net worth of over $500m.

The Rock is actually rumoured to be making a WWE return relatively soon, either towards the end of 2022, or at the beginning of 2023.

Rocky is believed to be setting up a match at WrestleMania 39 with his real-life cousin, the reigning Universal Champion, Roman Reigns.

However, whether the match happens or not will depend on The Rock’s busy movie schedule, so while WWE obviously wants it to happen, the plans could fall through if Rock gets too busy.
