'The reality' - Tottenham boss Antonio Conte issues Wolves verdict
Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has lavished praise on Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bruno Lage ahead of Sunday’s clash between the sides.
Spurs and Wolves meet in north London looking to bounce back from midweek defeats.
Spurs conceded two late goals as they were beaten 3-2 at home by Southampton while Wolves endured a frustrating night against Arsenal, who edged to a 1-0 win at Molineux.
The sides are seventh and eighth in the table. Tottenham are two points clear of Lage’s side, with both looking to secure European football for next season.
Conte is impressed with the strides Wolves have made under Lage this season, describing them as a “really good team”.
“First of all, yeah I think he’s doing a fantastic job with Wolverhampton,” said the Italian, reported Football.London.
“When you study his team, you understand that behind this team there is a lot of good work.
“He's doing very well. We know that the game that we're facing will be very tough for us, but we know very well that we lost the previous game and we need to play a really good game and get three points against Wolverhampton.
“ Wolverhampton is the reality of the Premier League, a really good team, players and manager. I wish them the best – but only after the game against us.”
