The Rangers contract Philippe Clement 'wants' with long term Saudi offer hanging over Ibrox next boss talks

In-demand Philippe Clement is understood to want a long-term contract from Rangers - with a Saudi report doubling down on our understanding that a four-year-deal will take him to Ibrox.

Record Sport revealed that the Belgian has concerns over the tenures of Gio van Bronckhorst and Michael Beale - who lasted just 12 months and 10 months in the Light Blues hot seat respectively - and that a four-year commitment was his hope. Clement was sacked himself after 18 months in charge of Monaco and has been out of work since and is understood to be looking for guarantees from the club to take him to the Scottish Premiership amid interest from Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Shabab.

Saudi outlet Al-Riyadiah claim Shabab have tabled a three-year offer to Clement but reports elsewhere have hinted that the ex-Club Brugge boss would be keen to try his luck in Europe again which could see him opt for Glasgow over Riyadh. However, it is claimed that Clement wants a four-year commitment from the Scottish Premiership club.

Rangers have also been urged to put in place including bonuses for winning the league and cups, as well as qualifying for the Champions League. The 49-year-old looks set to battle it out with Yokohama F Marinos boss Kevin Muscat to decide who will succeed Beale.
