The Premier League record Manchester United can set with win vs Burnley

Manchester United will be looking to become the first club to win six consecutive Premier League fixtures against Burnley at Turf Moor when they meet on Tuesday evening.

United, who beat Sean Dyche's side 3-1 at Old Trafford between Christmas and New Year, will travel to Turf Moor looking to bounce back from Friday evening's shock FA Cup exit at the hands of Middlesbrough.

Interim manager Ralf Rangnick saw his side lose 8-7 on penalties after being held to a 1-1 stalemate at the end of 120 minutes, meaning they will be under pressure to secure a result against the Clarets and get back on track.

However, United, in the Premier League, have turned a corner in recent weeks, winning their last two matches, beating Brentford and West Ham, meaning they will be going in search of a third successive league triumph for the third time this season.

In United's favour, Turf Moor has proven to be a happy hunting ground in recent years, highlighted by their run of five consecutive wins in this particular corner of Lancashire.

Dating back to April 2017, United have won their last five trips to Burnley, all without conceding a goal. Premier League records show that no side has ever won six consecutive Premier League matches at Turf Moor, meaning United could write a little bit of history.

Furthermore, you have to go back to August 2009 for the last time Burnley scored against United at Turf Moor, meaning that Rangnick's troops will be targeting a seventh consecutive clean sheet in the Clarets' own backyard.

United won 1-0 at Turf Moor in January last year on their last visit, courtesy of Paul Pogba's second half effort.
