"Newcastle United Will Win The Premier League Before Manchester United"

The Magpies' Saudi-backed takeover means they're on the cusp of becoming one of football's biggest financial attractions. Cundy thinks that will bring trophies in the near future.

When asked who he thinks will win the league next out of the two sides, he immediately replied: "I'd probably go Newcastle."

"Would you honestly?" Andy Goldstein replies before Cundy goes on to lay out his reasons.

"I think I would. Look at what Manchester City have done with their millions and how they've spent, look at what Chelsea have done with their millions and how they've spent.

"Both of those clubs aren't in it to make money. Chelsea and Man City's model isn't worrying about money it's about glory. It's not about the pound notes. Manchester United, right now, their priorities right now aren't necessarily about the trophies."

Newcastle added Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood, Dan Burn and Bruno Guimaraes to their squad last month and now sit in 17th, four points ahead of Norwich City.

They haven't won a major honour of any kind since 1955, when they won the FA Cup.

Meanwhile, United sit fifth in the Premier League despite the arrivals of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo last summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked in November and the club hired Ralf Rangnick as interim boss until the end of this season.

They've lost just once in the Premier League under Rangnick, but performances have stagnated in recent weeks.

Reports also claim players are unhappy with Rangnick's training sessions and call them 'old-fashioned' while mocking assistant Chris Armas.

It's been five years since United last won a trophy and it's unlikely they'll be changing that.
