'The poor goalkeeper' - Wrexham ace Paul Mullin reflects on horror Manchester United collision

Wrexham star Paul Mullin revealed his lips turned blue on the pitch after a horror collision with Manchester United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop during the pre-season tour fixture in San Diego.

The incident at the Snapdragon Stadium occurred in the 12th minute when Bishop clattered into Mullin outside the penalty area in an attempt to clear his lines. United's 'keeper was given a yellow card while the forward, who had scored 46 goals in the Red Dragons' National League title winning season last year, was laid out on the floor receiving treatment.

After missing the start of Wrexham's return to the Football League, Mullin returned for a half hour cameo against Doncaster Rovers and has since scored four goals in nine appearances. However, the incident with United's now former shot stopper remains fresh in the 28-year-old's mind and he reflected on the events on Chris Kamara and Ben Shepherd's Proper Football Podcast this week.

"Ten minutes in, the ball goes behind Jonny Evans and I run after it. The goalkeeper comes out, makes a bit of a hash of it, and cleans me out instead of the ball.

"Next thing, I couldn't breathe for a couple of minutes on the floor and at that point I started fearing the worst. All the medical staff rushed on and I remember seeing faces above me
