The petty feud which culminated in the death of an innocent teen

At the tender age of 16, the world was Alisha Goup's oyster.

Born and bred in Oldham, she had grabbed life with both hands and was taking her first steps towards a successful career.

She had enrolled at Oldham College for her A Levels, and had hopes of going on to study business at university.

Described as a 'sweet and kind' girl by her former school, her dream was then to set up a company of her own.

In a strange twist of fate, the young man who ended her life in the most horrific way had similar dreams and aspirations to her.

Omar Choudhury had already made it to university, by the time he lost control of his car and killed Alisha.

Also born and raised in Oldham, Choudhury was in the second year of a biomedical science degree at the University of the West of England in Bristol.

He had hopes to pursue a career in the medical profession.

But despite his academic and professional aspirations, Choudhury had another side to his personality.

It would go on to ruin his life and, more devastatingly, end the life of innocent Alisha.

A boy racer, he was obsessed with speed.

Even in the months before Choudhury hit Alisha as she walked along the pavement to attend college, the 22-year-old had been caught driving at tremendous speed.

Videos which police later discovered on his phone following the fatal collision revealed that in separate incidents, he'd reached speeds of 120mph, 145mph, 100mph and 156mph.

At his crown court trial, Choudhury said of the speeding: "I know it was wrong, I just thought there was less danger to the public because there were just us two on the road."
