The paltry Scotland World Cup allocation revealed as punters face ticket scramble

Followers of the Scotland national team face a World Cup nightmare if they qualify for Qatar as they are set for an official allocation of only 2,339 tickets.

And that includes a looming Auld Enemy showdown with England.

Steve Clarke 's side face Ukraine on June 1 in the play-off, semi-finals at Hampden, with the winners playing Wales in Cardiff four days later for a place at the Finals.

Scotland would play all three games at the World Cup - against USA, Iran and England - at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium at Al Rayyan in the tiny Gulf state.

But despite the new arena having a capacity of 50,000, FIFA will only allocate each nation a tiny percentage of the tickets with the rest going to tickets already sold in the ballot, locals, sponsors and hospitality.

And the English FA have announced to their Travel Club members their official allocation for their three games and revealed that they will receive just 2,339 briefs for their last game against either Scotland, Ukraine or Wales.
