A huge regeneration in Salford and a controversial housing development are among the key planning developments across Greater Manchester this week.
The land around Chapel Street in Salford has been touted for a £2.5bn regeneration for energy-efficient and affordable houses. The first phase of this scheme could soon come in the form of a 42-home residential development on Farmer Norton car park.
Over in Hazel Grove, a controversial green belt development has re-emerged.
A 200-home plan is back on the table for the Mirrlees Fields. Stockport Council had initially refused the plans in January 2023 after it caused outrage locally.
An outline application for the plan was approved last year, this next step in the planning stage would see the scheme take another step closer to starting.
