The most affordable area to buy a home in every Greater Manchester borough

House prices are soaring up and down the country and unfortunately Greater Manchester is no exception. However there are certain parts of the region where you can find properties with reasonably cheap price tags if you know exactly where to look.

With help from Rightmove 's latest house price data, we have singled out the most affordable area in each of Greater's Manchester's 10 boroughs to help those who are hunting for a bargain home.

Those searching for a home in the Bolton borough can typically expect to pay around £201,174 for a standard property. But if you want to find somewhere to live that is a bit cheaper, you should try Farnworth.

The large town is the cheapest place to live in the borough, with an average house price of £145,728. A quick glance on Rightmove shows that at the moment you can buy this three-bed semi-detached property for just £125,000.

Farnworth benefits from being close to the M61 motorway with the busy A666 running through the area. It also has two rail stations - Farnworth and Moses Gate - and a number of parks including Farnworth Park, Ellesmere Park, Bradford Street Recreation Ground and Doe Hey Playing Fields.

Properties in the borough of Bury had an average price of £231,996 over the last year, however in Radcliffe you can bag a home for around £190,400.
