The Masked Singer fans 'baffled' as Destiny's Child legend unmasked

Jaws dropped as Destiny’s Child legend Michelle Williams was revealed to be Rockhopper on The Masked Singer UK.

The judging panel and fans watching at home gasped as the 42-year-old singing superstar was unmasked as the penguin character on the zany ITV singing contest.

Michelle, who topped the charts with the girlband in the noughties with hits including Bug A Boo, Survivor, Bootylicious, Say My Name and Lose My Breath, made it to the semi-final of the hit show after having viewers and the judges Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora and Mo Gilligan guessing her identity for weeks as she performed in disguise.

@mishybabez_ tweeted: "Rockhopper is Destinys child legend Michelle Williams omg what a shock."

And @tennistipsy said: "Michelle Williams what a legend."

As fans expressed their amazement, others pointed out that Michelle, 42, who was a trio with Beyoncé Knowles and Kelly Rowland until 2006, had already been in the US version of the show in 2019 as Butterfly.

@mademetoxic pointed out: "So now Michelle did the US and UK versions of Masked Singer."
