'The luck is that I am still here' - Dad describes terrifying moment he was hit and 'dragged' by bus

A dad has shared the scary moment he was hit and "dragged" by a bus.

MMA fighter Liam McCracken was on his way to a one-to-one coaching session on Tuesday, September 12 last year when the incident happened. His coach and friend, Phil Turner, became worried when Liam didn't show up for training.

And friends realised something was wrong when they heard about a man being hit by a bus on Pilch Lane East in Huyton, which was Liam's usual running route, and quickly figured out it must have been him. The dad had to have surgery for several serious injuries, with his most recent operation just three weeks ago, the Liverpool Echo reports.

"They couldn't turn the bus off, because the suspension would drop and I was under it obviously. Where I was, I was right at the back underneath the engine and the heat from it was burning me."

He added: "The only people that like watched it happen from their car they seen it all and they just said they didn't think anyone could survive it so they just thought they were going to see a body."

"I was just so lucky with the people that
