“The kind of addition we need” – Hull City fan pundit gives his verdict on reported incoming signing

Hull City didn’t have a season as successful as they would’ve hoped for last season and ended up finishing the year sat 19th in the table. 

However, following the takeover of the club by Acun Ilicali, the club are in a position to be adding to their squad this summer in the hope that they can push further up the table next season.

One of the incoming signings looks to be Turkish player Ozan Tufan who has agreed personal terms with the club and is on the brink of signing a permanent deal.

Therefore, we asked FLW’s Hull City fan pundit Ant his thoughts on the transfer: ” I don’t think a lot of City fans will know who he is.

“He was on loan at Watford, it didn’t quite work out there.

“If you look into it it looks like he had a bit of a mismatched pre-season that didn’t really get him up to scratch and wasn’t able then to fully delve into the requirements of the Premier League but Acun has said in multiple interviews that he’s only going to sign players who want to be here and there’s a lot of good things.

He’s held in high regard in his country, he’s capped over 6o times for Turkey so he must be a good player to be capped that many times on the international stage and if we’re looking at progressing to be a side that’s going to challenge the top ten or the top six then he’s probably going to be the kind of addition we need.

“Bit of international experience, bit of knowhow, may be good for him to have a season or two in the Championship at this level just to help him find his creative best.
