The 'key player' in cocaine and heroin ring who organised drugs 'runners'

A 'key player' in a drugs line peddling cocaine and heroin to the streets has been jailed. Kielan Shennan, 24, from north Manchester, was involved in organising 'drug runners' and had a 'leading role' in supplying Class A drugs, police said as he was locked up on Tuesday.

Greater Manchester Police said Shennan was brought to justice following an investigation by the force's 'county lines' drugs team into the supply of cocaine and heroin in the Lancashire towns of Burnley and Rossendale.

Evidence sourced from a phone, said the force, implicated a mobile number in what was described as a 'busy' drug-dealing operation.

In a statement, GMP said: "The investigation team then set about determining who was in control of the phone and where this person was located.

"Mobile phone evidence and CCTV enquiries led to the identification of Shennan and he was arrested on August 16. A house search also led to the seizure of a significant quantity of heroin and more than £1,500 in cash.

"The investigation and evidence stacked against Shennan demonstrated he was involved in organising 'drug runners' and had a leading role in supplying Class A drugs for the county line."

Police said Shennan, of Munn Road, Higher Blackley, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine; possession with intent to supply heroin and possessing criminal cash.

At Manchester Crown Court on Tuesday, he was jailed for three years and nine months.
