The heartbreaking final texts 'caring' young dad sent to girlfriend before tragic death

A 'loving and caring' young man sent a series of heartbreaking final text messages to his girlfriend shortly before taking his own life, an inquest heard.

Liam Oxley, 26, a much-loved father of two from Bradford, was described as a 'troubled young man' who had been diagnosed with ADHD and depression, Yorkshire Live reports.

Adrienne, his partner, said Liam was a "lovely caring boyfriend and father" who adored his two children and was an active and 'hands-on' dad. He had battled depression and, a couple of years before his death, had been hit hard by the death of his grandma.

In a statement, Adrienne said that, around the time of his grandma's death Liam had started drinking heavily and had also taken cocaine. He had struggled to cope with the 'come-downs' from alcohol and drugs, and had suffered from depression and paranoia, the inquest was told.

She said Liam had recently been feeling 'more down than usual' but wasn't very good at talking about his problems and he would "just keep it all to himself." She paid tribute to her partner, saying he was a caring person. "Liam was a lovely, caring boyfriend and father. He was a great father and son. He was loved by all of us."

Liam had sent Adrienne a number of texts just hours before he was found dead at the family home in the Idle area of Bradford. The cause of his death was hanging.

Ms Brocklehurst concluded that Liam had taken his own life. She told family members present in court that it was clear that Liam was loved and his family had done everything they could for him.

"From the evidence, it is very clear that while Liam was a troubled young man, he was greatly loved by all his family." Following his death, friends of Liam at Yeadon Tarn Angling Club set up a Go Fund Me
