The Greater Manchester venue serving Sunday roast carvery with unlimited Yorkshires and roasties
It could be argued that two of the best things about a Sunday roast are the roast potatoes and the Yorkshire puddings.
Manchester venue Freight Island appears to be in agreement with this as their newly launched carvery will let diners feast on unlimited helpings of both as well as all the trimmings.
Available every Sunday, Freight Island on Baring Street in Mayfield Depot will serve ‘Seconds’, the food hub’s modern take on the Sunday carvery. Diners will be able to pick from roast topside Highland beef, marmalade-glazed gammon joint, roast Cheshire turkey crown, or a roast squash and wild mushroom Wellington before feasting on a bunch of trimmings.

There will be Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, buttery mash, greens, honey-glazed carrots, petit pois, and 48-hour gravy up for grabs and you’ll be able to come back as many times as you like to get more.
Hosted on the terrace, the carvery will be available from 12pm - 8pm every Sunday from this week and will be offered in three sizes: £11 for kids (small plate) with a choice of one main, £18 for adults (regular plate) with a choice of two mains, and £21 for XXL (massive plate) with a choice of three mains.
Cheese fans can also spend an extra £4 to get unlimited access to a big pot of molten cheese, poured over and torched for extra melt. Further extra sides available include a giant sharing honey-mustard pigs in blankets, and a sharing sage and onion stuffing dish, both for an additional £4 each.
Seconds is just one of a bunch of events Freight Island has lined up for the autumn. From September 28 to October 1, the venue will host Oktoberfest with a live Oompah band,
