Greater Manchester weather forecast for the week

The rain is set to continue across Greater Manchester this week - but there's hope in sight.

After a rather wet bank holiday weekend, conditions are set to dry up by the end of the week. Today's heavy downpours (Tuesday August 29) will soon be replaced with sunny intervals in the evening, making way for a clear night.

According to the Met Office's forecast, there could be some sporadic light showers tomorrow morning until around 11am. But rest assured, like today, the sun will break through the clouds once again, with temperatures peaking at 17C.

Thursday looks set to be the driest day of the week so far, with cloudy skies all day, turning overcast from 7pm. There may be a spot of rain from 10pm - but nothing like we've seen this weekend.

Friday's sky might look dull, grey and threatening but it won't actually rain. In fact, sunny intervals will emerge in the evening, making way for a lovely clear night. Temperatures will peak at 19C.

It's the news we've all been waiting for - you can leave the umbrella and rain mac at home this weekend. It's forecast to be completely dry across Greater Manchester this Saturday and Sunday.

Making up for the bank holiday downpours, Saturday is predicted to be cloudy with plenty of sunny intervals and highs of 20C. Much of the same is expected on Sunday, with sunshine breaking through the clouds throughout the day and temperatures also peaking at 20C.
