The Good Ship Murder reveals shocking baby twist as fans 'work out' bombshell

Viewers of Channel 5's hit series The Good Ship Murder proved to be ahead of the game, as many predicted the bombshell revelation before it even happened.

In the episode that aired on Friday, the fictional cruise ship set sail for Gran Canaria, only for yet another unfortunate death to occur.

Before the action kicked off, there was good news aboard when passenger Melanie joyfully disclosed that she was five weeks pregnant after trying to conceive for a number of years.

Dev, her partner, openly shared his elation over the pregnancy with a crew member, explaining their lengthy struggles with fertility.

Despite some reservations, Dev was overjoyed by the development, but eagle-eyed viewers had already cast doubts that he was the child's biological father, suspecting Melanie's criminal companion Mickey as the more likely progenitor.

One savvy fan speculated on Twitter: "I don't think Dev is the father. Probably Micke," reports the Express.

Their suspicions were confirmed, prompting another viewer to boast: "Knew that baby wasn't his!"

A third chimed in about the shady Mickey: "Knew I didn't trust him."

Further intrigue arose when crew members Kate (portrayed by Catherine Tyldesley) and Jack (Shayne Ward) were determined to uncover why Melanie deceived everyone about her baby's paternity, to which she admitted it was ill-judged and never meant to reach Dev's ears.

Compounding this baby drama, however, was the elephant in the room the unresolved murder of Dev himself.
