The 'fixer' ex-soldier who socialised with Premier League stars - before finding himself in the dock with one

He is the ex-soldier who socialised with some of the Premier League’s biggest names. A regular in the VIP sections of Manchester’s bars and nightclubs, Louis Saha Matturie moved in the world of celebrity.

Yet the father-of-one was accused of being a sexual predator who used his powerful connections so that he could rape and sexually assault several young women. Following two crown court trials, Mr Matturie, like his friend and former Manchester City star Benjamin Mendy, has been cleared of all wrongdoing.

Mr Matturie, 42, was accused of plucking women from city centre nightclubs before luring them back to after-parties where they were allegedly exploited, the trial heard.

Prosecutors alleged he was Mr Mendy's 'fixer'. Following a lengthy court battle in the full glare of the world’s media, three separate juries have rejected all the allegations made against both men.

Mr Mendy is now rebuilding his football career in his native France. The future is perhaps more uncertain for Mr Matturie. But who is Louis Saha Matturie, and how did he end up rubbing shoulders with some of the Premier League’s most famous faces?

Born in Sierra Leone, Mr Matturie served in the Yorkshire Regiment of the British Army before he was forced to leave due to a ‘serious injury’. By the summer of 2012, he was living in Manchester - in an unremarkable tower block in Hulme.
