• 160 Formula races took place between start of 2014 and end of 2021.

• Lewis Hamilton won a total of 81 races, translating a winning percentage of 50.6%.

Since 2014, the era in which Formula 1 has moved has been aptly named the turbo-hybrid era. And it's fitting, because it is the first time in the sport's history that hybrid technology has been merged with the internal combustion engine (ICE). This year, F1 cars will look vastly different to the outgoing ones, but the powertrain will still be the same.

I guess we could say that 2022 - 2025 is 'turbo-hybrid 2.0'.

But in the current era's first phase, eleven F1 drivers stood on the podium's top step. Of course, it wasn't as straightforward as cutting cheese, because teams were pushing the development of their cars until the end of the 2021 season. Not every team and driver managed to get the recipe right throughout a season or a race weekend, but it happened for 11 drivers over the last eight seasons.

The winners

Unexpectedly, Lewis Hamilton won 81 races between 2014 and 2021. Given that 160 races took place in that time, the Mercedes-AMG driver had won a total of 50.6% of races. Hamilton also secured his second F1 championship in 2014 after jumping ship from McLaren-Mercedes at the end of the 2012 season, and has won every season since bar 2016 and 2021.
