The cheapest home for sale in Manchester is just £23,000 - but it has a bricked door and no stairs

A super cheap home has come up for sale in Manchester - but for any interested buyers, there's a catch. Put on the market on August 8, this maisonette is currently the cheapest property you can buy in the Manchester borough with a guide price of just £23,000.

Found in Moston, where the average price of a home is £174,500, the self-contained flat sits on the first floor of a former semi-detached house. But although many buyers may be attracted by its bargain price, they will certainly have their work cut out.

This run-down property is the ultimate renovation project for anyone brave enough to take it on. Estate agents say the home 'requires refurbishment' as it currently has no stairs, a bricked door and boarded-up windows.

The home on Amos Street is being marketed by Auction House who will host an online auction for the property.

As the flat can't currently be accessed due to the stairs being removed and the door bricked-up, the auctioneers say they can only 'assume' its current state and layout.

In the description of the listing on Rightmove, Auction House state: "Not inspected by Auction House North West, however assumed to comprise a first floor maisonette/flat situated on the first floor of a former semi-detached house.

"The maisonette appears to be self-contained with a ground floor entrance to a hallway, with the stairs having been removed and the doorway on the first floor bricked up.

"The first floor has not been inspected however is assumed to require full refurbishment."

The property is situated in a mainly residential area that sits approximately 2.5 miles north east of Manchester City Centre.
