The Championship: Provincial showdowns, David Power on Tipperary departure

Eoin Larkin and Tom Condon look ahead to the Munster and Leinster hurling finals, while the now former Tipperary football manager David Power discusses why teams teams are holding back in the championship and whether he'll wear the bainisteoir bib again.

Larkin, a holder of ten provincial medals, says Henry Shefflin facing Kilkenny is well diluted by now, and that it's no longer a side story. He also outlines his thoughts on the changes Derek Lyng has brought in since replacing Brian Cody.

Condon hones in in on Tom Morrissey's increased importance to Limerick, a potential hurler of the year, he thinks.

This week saw David Power step down from the Premier post and he talks candidly about the reasons for resignation, challenges faced this year, the future of Tipp football and his own intentions regarding getting involved again.

Power gives an assessment of current calendar and feels that "you're nearly penalised for winning the provincial championships", while adding that no team is standing out for him in the All-Ireland series.
