'The boy' - Peter Drury's pefect reaction as Phil Foden fires Man City to Premier League title brink

Manchester City's potentially historic day has gotten off to the best possible after Phil Foden fired his team ahead against West Ham United.

The Blues entered the match at the Etihad Stadium knowing a win is all that is needed to secure a historic fourth consecutive league title in the Premier League. No team in the history of the top flight has managed to accomplish this feat but an early strike from Foden has put them on the brink.

With just two minutes on the clock, the 23-year-old cut inside from the right-hand side to lash a fierce effort into Alphonse Areola's top corner. The strike sparked wild celebrations from the City supporters and this was replicated in the commentary box.

On Sky Sports, Peter Drury provided the perfect backing track. After the first goal, he screamed into his microphone: "Oh wow!

"That's the boy. The power and the glory.

"He's just a kid from Stockport living his best life," his co-commentator Gary Neville added: "What a goal, voted the best player in the Premier League and he has just shown us why.

"City have more players who can take the ball on the back foot and receive it across their bodies than any other team I have ever seen other than that Barcelona team of Pep Guardiola's but they can't all do that. He puts his foot right through it, it rocks the net."

Drury was up to his old tricks again just a quarter of an hour later as a brilliant pass from Jeremy Doku picked out Foden to sweep home the second and put the game seemingly beyond doubt already.

"Another magic day for a magic Manchester man," Drury exclaimed as City cruised towards the Premier League title.
