Injury update given on Manchester United duo as England explain Man City ace John Stones absence
England manager Gareth Southgate has confirmed that Manchester United duo Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw are "progressing well" as they race to be fit in time for the European Championship.
Maguire and Shaw reported for England duty ahead of schedule to get to work with the Three Lions medical staff after ending United's campaign in the treatment room. Maguire missed the Reds' last four matches while Shaw has been sidelined since mid-February.
Both players, however, were included in England's 33-man provisional squad for the upcoming tournament in Germany almost a fortnight ago. They have both played key roles in recent tournaments under Southgate.

But despite making progress, Monday night's warm-up match against Bosnia and Herzegovina will come too soon for the United duo. Manchester City defender John Stones will also miss the St James' Park clash after reporting slightly later for Three Lions duty than his teammates.
Southgate, hosting his pre-match press conference on Sunday afternoon, said: "All are progressing well. We are pleased with the progress they've made, [but] none of them will be involved tomorrow.
"Same tomorrow for Bukayo Saka and for John Stones. Everybody else will be involved.
"John has reported a bit later so hasn't worked with us, he will follow an individual programme. Bukayo is fine, he will be rested tomorrow and should be available by Friday."
