The 10 highest-paid footballers in the world after Mo Salah's new Liverpool deal

Mohamed Salah has officially extended his contract with Liverpool Football Club.

The news Kopites have been craving for months finally arrived on Friday afternoon and it’s a much-needed boost for the team going into the 2022/23 season.

Sadio Mane‘s departure to Bayern Munich meant Liverpool simply could not afford to lose Salah and that’s why the club have met his lofty wage demands.

The Egyptian is now the highest-paid player in the Merseyside outfit’s long history, his salary believed to be in the region of £400,000-a-week.

As we reported HERE, that’s nearly double that of the second-highest earner at the club, Virgil van Dijk.

Liverpool really have gone above and beyond to keep Salah and it’s easy to understand why when you look at what he’s achieved since signing in the summer of 2017.

The former Chelsea and AS Roma winger is without question one of the Reds’ greatest ever players, scoring goals at a frightening rate (156 in 254 games) and winning a plethora of trophies – including the Premier League title and the Champions League.

It’s no wonder Liverpool have opted to make Salah the fourth-highest paid footballer in the world, is it?

The folks over at the Daily Mail have named the 10 footballers with the biggest salaries in the present day after Salah’s new deal was announced, with Jurgen Klopp’s main man now ahead of Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Let’s take a look at the rest of the sport’s top earners…
