'That will happen' - Sky Sports reporter now drops huge Everton transfer claim

Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has revealed that Everton wants to sign Tottenham Hotspur outcast Harry Winks this summer after the England international ‘lost his way’ at the North London club. 

Everton is looking to bolster their squad after a disastrous 21/22 season where they narrowly escaped relegation thanks to the efforts of new manager Frank Lampard. It now looks like they are going to use the pull of their manager with rumours of looking to sign Winks for Spurs this summer.

Bridge has revealed they are interested in the player, however, the potential deal for Winks between the two teams has not lined up as Everton wants to loan the player before buying, whereas Spurs are looking for something permanent.

He said on The Transfer Show: “A deal I broke last night was Everton in talks with Harry Winks and Tottenham. A player who kind of needs a move, and I think Everton would prefer a loan with view to a permanent. Spurs only really keen on a permanent at the moment. He’s a player who was Man of the Match on his England debut a couple of years ago, but he’s just sort of lost his way. I think that will happen.”

The Toffees desperately need to improve their squad and midfield is one of the more critical areas that need to be addressed. They currently only have Allan, Fabian Delph, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Andre Gomes as recognised central midfielders and they suffered injuries to both Doucoure and Gomes which kept them out for the important run-in.
