"That's the real disaster" - Journalist reveals yet another issue facing Lampard at Everton

Everton are ‘losing the fans again now’ amid a torrid run of results under new manager Frank Lampard, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Toffees are one of six sides who have never been relegated from the Premier League, although that could be about to change if they don’t address their form and quickly.

It was a promising start to the season under the tutelage of former manager Rafael Benitez for Everton as they lost just one of their opening seven Premier League games.

However, things quickly turned sour for the Spanish tactician, and he was relieved of his duties in January after just six-and-a-half months at the helm following a run of one victory in 13 fixtures.

Lampard was announced as Benitez’s successor at the end of January and his arrival seemed to have the desired effect after Everton secured a comfortable 4-1 victory over Brentford in the FA Cup in what was his first game in charge of Everton.

But once again, Everton’s joy proved to be short-lived as the Goodison Park outfit have claimed a solitary league win since then, losing on five occasions.

Their latest defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers over the weekend left them hovering above the relegation zone on goal difference and resulted in the players being booed off the Goodison Park pitch by their own supporters.

Towards the end of Benitez’s reign, large sections of the Everton fan base started to turn against the former Liverpool boss.

Banners reading, “Benitez get out of our club” were unfurled in protest ahead of his dismissal but Lampard’s arrival appeared to initially transform the mood around the blue half of Merseyside.
