Tesco makes price cut announcement as cost of more than 150 popular items slashed

Tesco has announced it is cutting the price of more than 150 items by an average of 12.5 per cent.

The supermarket said it has focused its price cuts on items that families buy frequently. Fresh fruit such as blueberries and strawberries are among the products reduced in price, as well as sausages, coffee, baked beans and breakfast cereals.

Tesco Group Chief Commercial Officer, Ashwin Prasad, said: "After the expense of Christmas, January can really stretch family budgets and families are looking for great value more than at any other time. By focusing our price cuts on truly popular items, customers will find it’s even easier to spend less at Tesco."
