Tesco employee shares all the things staff wish they could tell you but they can't

Most people over the age of 18 will be able to recall a time when they have been ID’ed at the supermarket for buying a bottle of wine or an energy drink when they are very much older than the legal age limit.

Whether it's taken as a compliment or not, one shop worker has revealed - as part of a number of gripes - that the exchange can be just as awkward for them as it is for the customer.

The former Tesco employee, who claims to have spent many years working at the supermarket chain, has lifted the lid on the things they would love to really say to shoppers - but they aren’t allowed to.

While the majority of customers will be polite and respectful to staff, other people can be rude and make the job difficult for workers, The Mirror reports.

The former supermarket employee has shared a number of things below that they wish they could tell customers - ranging from carrier bag charges to the hype surrounding those famous yellow reduced stickers.

You're early, that's great. But unfortunately when we open at 7am, that means 7am. I'm sorry if it's raining, or you're cold. But looking at me with a face like thunder isn't going to speed this process up.
