Terence Crawford targets Josh Taylor superfight as Scottish boxing icon eyes another glory night

Terence Crawford admits he has his eyes on Josh Taylor ahead of the Scottish star's light-welterweight unification showdown ON Saturday night.

The Tartan Tornado is a huge admirer of the American superstar and is targeting a move to 147lbs after his clash with Jack Catterall on Saturday night.

But boxing purists are salivating over the prospect of two of the world's finest fighters locking horns later in 2022.

And Crawford admits a tussle with Taylor is on his radar as he looks to add to his impressive CV with box-office showdowns before the end of his career.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "Of course, in the future.

"I'm not opposed to any of it. If that fight makes sense and that fight is the fight that's in front of me, then of course."

Crawford fought in Glasgow at The Hydro against Ricky Burns in 2014 and returned to Britain to cheer on stablemate Amir Khan for his clash with Kell Brook.

And he admits he loves the atmosphere generated by British fight fans and is aiming to sample it again.

He added: "Thanks for the love, the support and the hospitality you guys showed me and my team.

"It was a wonderful time, the atmosphere was great.
