Teens locked up over savage gang attack on father and son

Two teenagers have been locked up for their part in a 'vicious' attack on a father and son in a town centre.

Police said they were punched and kicked to the floor and when the then 51-year-old man tried to get back up, he was kicked in the face by Liam Doolan. Doolan, 18, was convicted after blood on his shoe matched the victim's DNA.

The father sustained 'significant facial injuries' which required surgery, police added, and his son, then aged 17, sustained cuts and bruises to his face during the attack in Congleton, Cheshire.

A 15-year-old boy from Macclesfleild and a 15-year-old girl from Congleton appeared at Crewe magistrates' court in March and pleaded guilty to section 47 actual bodily harm. When they located the teenagers, the group were verbally aggressive toward them. As father and son walked off the teenagers followed them and continued to shout abuse as they walked through the town centre.
