Teden Mengi sends classy message to Man United teammate Tahith Chong after injury battle

Manchester United hopeful Teden Mengi has posted a social media message to club mate Tahith Chong upon his comeback from injury, with both currently on loan at Birmingham City.

Chong made his return in a 2-0 defeat to Huddersfield on Saturday after four months out due to a thigh tendon injury.

He arrived back at United for rehabilitation, before returning to the Blues earlier this month to complete his season-long loan spell.

Mengi also secured a temporary switch to Lee Bowyer’s side in January but is out of action for a number of weeks after suffering a hamstring injury.

The 19-year-old centre-half had started all eight games prior to his setback, helping the side keep a clean sheet in his last outing against Luton on February 12 in a 3-0 win.

Chong, 22, came on for his 14th Championship match of the season in the Huddersfield loss, enjoying 24 minutes.

Prior to the game, Mengi posted an encouraging message to Chong on Instagram, accompanied with a video of his teammate warming up. He said: “Good to see bro back.”

In his 14 appearances, Chong has delivered three assists for Birmingham from the flanks.

He has played 16 times for United’s first team since his debut in January 2018, managing to grab two assists in those matches.
