Manchester United loanee Tahith Chong reveals outcome of talks over his future

Tahith Chong has revealed he's held talks with Manchester United over his future at Old Trafford while praising the club for their 'constant communication' since he moved on loan at Birmingham City.

The 22-year-old has established himself as a fans' favourite since securing a temporary switch to St Andrew's. His stint in the second city has not been without difficulties, having recently returned from a groin injury that kept him sidelined for roughly four months.

On his return to the starting XI Chong made an instant impact, scoring with his first chance of the game in last weekend's 2-1 victory over Bristol City. Chong has praised United for their support since he moved to Birmingham, while also revealing he's held talks with the club over his future at Old Trafford.

He told PA: "I think that’s brilliant from their part as well. We’ve been in constant communication.

"I think we both agreed from both parties to just focus on the season. When I was back in United seeing them as well and speaking to them obviously, they just want to see me finish the season here and do well and just stay fit. And, you know, just see what happens really in the summer kind of thing."

Chong is out of contract at the end of the season but United do have the option to trigger an extension to his deal. He admitted he's enjoyed playing under Birmingham boss Lee Bowyer this season and explained how the move has differed to his spells at Club Brugge and Werder Bremen.
