Talks scheduled: Tottenham chiefs 'set to meet' club director in London over £43m star - report

Tottenham Hotspur chiefs are now ‘set to meet’ for talks over a move for Torino star Gleison Bremer, according to a fresh transfer report.

It’s safe to say the start of this summer’s transfer window has been one of the most exciting in years from the point of view of Lilywhites supporters.

A trio of deals for Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma have been followed by reliable reports that they’re close to signing both Clement Lenglet and Richarlison.

It seems that Antonio Conte is getting the board’s full backing ahead of his first full Premier League season in charge of the north Londoners.

Amid these developments, it appears that Tottenham could have the chance to sign another player as news emerges on Bremer.

According to 90min, as also shared by journalist Sean Walsh on Twitter, Spurs officials are ‘set to meet’ with Torino for talks over the Brazilian, who is valued at €50m (£43m).

The Serie A club’s president Urbano Cairo has allegedly dispatched sporting director Davide Vagnati to London, with him being given the mission to meet with ‘officials’ from Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea.

While Conte’s side are closing in on Lenglet, it is also claimed that Tottenham would like to sign two centre-backs (Alasdair Gold, Spurs Q&A).

Taking this into account, signing Bremer as a first-choice for the Spurs back three with Lenglet as backup could be a brilliant move.

The South American colossus stood out as one of Serie A’s most commanding centre-backs last season, averaging more interceptions per 90 minutes than any other defender in the Italian top flight (WhoScored).

He also ranked in the division’s top ten when it comes to clearances per match, and signing him for £43m could be a more than astute move by Tottenham
