Talks ongoing: Tim Spiers drops fresh Wolves transfer update that’ll have Lage worried - opinion

Wolves could be set for some late January transfer window drama over the future of one of their current key players, which will surely have manager Bruno Lage and a lot of fans on the edge of their seats for the next few days.

According to a recent Twitter post from Wolves journalist Tim Spiers, the negotiations between Tottenham Hotspur and Wolves for the potential transfer of Adama Traore are “dragging on.”

Spiers also added that “with no agreement reached yet, Spurs have a number of deals they are trying to complete between now and Monday,” before ending his tweet saying that Wolves are “holding out for their asking price.”

Having been heavily linked with a move to the north London club this month with Wolves reportedly aiming to secure a transfer fee of £25m for him, the winger could see his time with the Old Gold come to an end in the coming days if a deal can be worked out between the two clubs.

Since arriving from Middlesbrough back in the 2018 summer transfer window for a reported fee of £18m, the attacker has gone on to make 154 appearances for Wolves across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 18 assists along the way, highlighting how much of a regular figure he’s been for the club.

Given the lack of uncertainty around Traore and his future at this moment in time with talks with Tottenham still ongoing, Lage will certainly be sweating over the situation and be concerned about whether or not he’ll be able to have the Spaniard in his squad to call upon for the remainder of the season as Wolves aim to secure European football by the end of the campaign.

If Traore does end up leaving in the coming days, it may not give the Midlands club enough time to secure a potential replacement for the 26-year-old
