'Should be back soon' - Tim Spiers provides huge injury update on 'unbelievable' Wolves hero

Wolves centre-back Willy Boly is closing in on a return from injury in the near future after a lengthy absence, according to reliable journalist Tim Spiers.

The 31-year-old has experienced a frustrating 2021/22 season to date, making just one solitary Carabao Cup appearance amid constant injury woes.

Boly has been hampered throughout the campaign, with his most recent issue a leg problem which has kept him out of action for the last two months.

It finally looks as though the Ivorian could be about to play a part in Wolves’ strong campaign, though, with Spiers providing an update which will be music to the ears of the Molineux faithful.

Taking to Twitter to respond to a question regarding Boly’s fitness, Spiers claimed that the defender’s return to action is close.

The journalist outlined: “Calf injury, he’s in training so should be back soon.”

At 31, and with Max Kilman, Conor Coady and Romain Saiss thriving as a back-three this season, Boly could find it hard to win back his place in the team upon his return.

That being said, the centre-back will be a great option to have, allowing Lage to potentially rotate his squad and ensure that legs remain fresh between now and May as Wanderers look to clinch European football.

Boly has been hailed as ‘unbelievable’ by Molineux academy prospect Pascal Estrada and has made 137 appearances for Wolves, standing out as one of their best players in the memorable 2019/20 season, and seeing him back in the fold will be a boost for everyone, given his quality and experience.

In other news, Wolves have been linked with a summer move for one player. Find out who it is here.
