Tactical Aid units descend on bonfire with '30 people' as police 'attacked' with fireworks
Police were reportedly 'attacked' with fireworks at a bonfire on Sunday night (November 5) with two people also left injured after being hit by fireworks in Bolton.
Tactical Aid officers from Greater Manchester Police along with fire crews attended an unofficial bonfire in the Abbey Hey area where officers were reportedly having fireworks launched at them as they responded to a group of 'around 30 people'.
It comes as the fire service also confirmed two people were left injured in Bolton after being hit by fireworks. They sustained minor injuries in the incident.

Elsewhere in the region, the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMRS) confirmed that groups of youths were also throwing fireworks directly at houses in Stockport and that a motorbike was set alight by a firework in Farnworth. They also attended a number of 'dangerous' bonfires.
It comes just days after GMFRS issued an important message 'urging communities to help prevent attacks on emergency workers' and 'anti-social behaviour' during this year's Bonfire Night period, warning that 'throwing fireworks and setting fires can cost lives'.
GMFRS’ Director of Prevention and Protection, Assistant Chief Fire Officer Leon Parkes, said: “This is an incredibly busy period for our staff. They deal with many dangerous incidents and they should never feel under threat of attack or be sent to a hoax call when we’re so busy with real incidents.
"Setting fires, throwing fireworks and making hoax calls can cost lives and keep our firefighters away from dealing with life-threatening incidents.
