Swansea City transfer headlines as Swans boosted by major Leeds United twist and Williams picks surprise dream team star

Here's your round-up of all the latest Swansea City headlines for Wednesday, March 30.

Leeds United's Kalvin Phillips has reportedly told the club he wants to stay and sign a new deal at Elland Road - providing Swansea with a huge Flynn Downes boost. The Mirror's David Anderson has revealed that Phillips has told the Leeds board of his intentions to remain at the club. National reports suggested Leeds were lining up Downes as a replacement for Phillips should he be tempted away this summer.

Aston Villa were believed to be readying a £60million bid for the England international, with West Ham United and Newcastle United also interested. News that he wants to stay with the Whites will be welcome in Yorkshire and in south Wales, with Downes very much a key part in what head coach Russell Martin wants to implement at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Downes' former coach Kieron Dyer recently suggested that he was a £10million player and that he would move to the Premier League this summer. That may well still happen, of course, but it is no doubt a boost that it doesn't look like Leeds' star man needs replacing come the end of the campaign.

Swansea had a number of players on international duty during the recent break. Jamie Searle made his bow for New Zealand against New Caledonia for a place in the Oceania World Cup qualifying semi-final. They won 7-1 to set up a semi-final clash with Tahiti, which they won 1-0. The final against Solomon Islands takes place tomorrow.

Ben Cabango played the full 90 minutes against Czech Republic on Tuesday and despite an unfortunate slip in the first half put in an assured performance. Olivier Ntcham didn't make Cameroon's 25-man squad for their play-off against Algeria but the Indomitable Lions
