Swansea City 1-0 Norwich City: Forson own goal sees Swans ease to victory

Swansea City picked up their second win of the Championship season after edging past Norwich City in an entertaining encounter at the Swansea.com Stadium.

The Swans were ahead after just four minutes when Amankwah Forson turned Eom Jisung's low cross into his own net, and held on to claim all three points despite some late heavy pressure form the visitors.

Norwich had a number of good chances to restore parity throughout the afternoon. Josh Sargent in particular might well be wondering how he didn't find the net after spurning several really promising opportunities in an action-packed first half.

Realistically, the visitors will probably feel aggrieved they didn't take something from this game. But while his side admittedly rode their luck for much of the afternoon, this still felt like a potentially positive step in the right direction for Luke Williams - and perhaps put concerns over any short-comings in the transfer window to one side, for the time being, at least.

But this win, which takes Swansea up to 11th, probably doesn't really answer the more long-term questions around the capabilities of this side.

The Swans boss fully admitted his team were blown away during the opening 45 minutes at West Bromwich Albion, but Swansea showed some promising signs as part of an improved second-half performance at the Hawthorns.

He opted for two changes from that defeat, with Liam Cullen returning to the squad to lead the line, while Kyle Naughton came in for Josh Tymon, who had previously been suffering from an illness in the week.

After stumbling out of the blocks last time out, Swansea showed far more immediacy during the opening exchanges here, and were rewarded for their positivity after just four minutes.
